Richard Hawkins, M.D., Founder, Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas

Dr. Hawkins specializes in shoulder, elbow, and knee reconstructive surgery and sports medicine. He is noted foremost as a shoulder surgeon and has authored seven textbooks on shoulder surgery that are used throughout the world. Dr. Hawkins is a founding member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society and physician for both the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. He is a clinical professor at the University of Colorado and at the University of Texas Southwest.

Mike Kissenberth, M.D., Orthopaedic Surgeon, Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center

Dr. Kissenberth is a graduate of The Citadel, where he captained the football team, and attended the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center and served his fellowship in Sports Medicine with Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia.

Gary Hyman, Executive Director, The Hawkins Foundation

Mr. Hyman has invested over 25 years in helping companies and organizations grow profitably. In 2006, Mr. Hyman left an established marketing consulting practice to work with Dr. Richard Hawkins in the development of the Hawkins Foundation. Mr. Hyman also serves as the Business Director of the S.C. Center in Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Services.

G. Thomas Chandler, M.Sc, Ph.D., Dean, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina

Dr. Chandler joined USC in 1987 as a post-doctoral fellow in the Baruch Institute. During his two-year tenure as interim dean, the school added a popular bachelor’s degree program in public health and maintained its perennial place among the top three schools and colleges within the University for external research funding.

Jerry Youkey, M.D., Executive Vice President of Medical and Academic Affairs
Dean of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville

Dr. Youkey is responsible for The Greenvilie Health System's research and education activities, as well as strategic and operational physician initiatives.

Dr. Youkey is certified by the American Board of Surgery in general vascular surgery. He is a member of several professional societies and has authored numerous books, abstracts and journal articles. He holds the academic appointment of professor and dean at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.

Laura Whitsitt, Senior Vice President, Global Research and Innovation, Smith & Nephew, Inc.

Ms. Whitsitt has a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Memphis and has completed Executive Education courses in business at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and at Stanford University. She is a member of several advisory boards, including the University of Memphis College of Engineering Advisory Council and the FedEx Institute of Technology Advisory Board.

Alain Tranchemontagne, Sr. Vice President, Commercial Services, Smith & Nephew, Inc.

Alain joined Smith & Nephew in 2008 and is a member of the executive team for the Advanced Surgical Devices division. His global responsibilities have included marketing, innovation, medical education and healthcare economics. Alain has over 20 years of international experience spanning start-ups to Fortune 500 organizations. He has had the opportunity to assemble and lead sales and marketing organizations across Asia, Europe and the Americas and has worked to ensure alignment between new product development and emerging markets. Prior to joining Smith & Nephew, he was Vice President, Strategy & Portfolio Management at Covidien.
